On February 27, 2026, Hue University held the doctoral dissertation defense at the Hue University level for PhD candidate Nguyen Huu Tho, a member of the fourth cohort admitted in 2021 to the doctoral program in Biology (Code: 9420101). His dissertation, entitled “Generation of Mutant Lines of the Hue Purple Dendrobium Orchid (Dendrobium anosmum Lindl.) through Experimental Mutagenesis,” was completed under the academic supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Thi Bich Phuong from the University of Sciences, Hue University, and Dr. Nguyen Kim Cuc from the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University. The Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University, served as the training institution.

PhD Candidate Nguyen Quang Hoang Vu Successfully Defends His Doctoral Dissertation at Hue University
On December 27, 2025, Hue University held the doctoral dissertation defense at the Hue University level for PhD candidate Nguyen Quang Hoang Vu, a member of the third cohort admitted in 2020 to the doctoral program in Biology (Code: 9420101). His dissertation, entitled “Effects of Silver Nanomaterials on Selected Diseases of Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) Cultivated in Thua Thien Hue Province,” was completed under the academic supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Kim Hong from Duy Tan University and Dr. Hoang Tan Quang from the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University. The Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University served as the training institution.

The institutional acceptance evaluation for the Hue University-level science and technology project entitled "Research on the Effects of Silver Nanoparticles on the Antagonistic Activity Against Several Pathogenic Microorganisms Affecting White Lotus Cultivated in Thua Thien Hue" (Project Code: DHH2023-15-20) was held at the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University.

On November 17, 2025, the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University, organized the Institutional-level Ph.D. Dissertation Defense for doctoral candidate Dang Ngoc Sang, enrolled in the 2021 cohort of the Biology doctoral program (Code: 9420101). The dissertation is entitled: “Isolation and Bioactivity Evaluation of Gypenosides from Cell Suspension Cultures of Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Makino.”
