Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University announces the dissertation information of PhD. candidate Hatsadong Chanthanousone, specifically as follows:
Full name: Hatsadong Chanthanousone
Dissertation title: Study on the efficiency of biofertilizer from Moringa residues for some leafy vegetables
Major: Biology
Code: 9420101
Supervisors: Assoc. Prof. Truong Thi Hong Hai, Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University
Dr. Nguyen Quang Co, Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University
Training institute: Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University.
Contributions of the dissertation:
1. Contribution in research and science
– Selection of Moringa lines for waterlogging tolerance and high phenolic and flavonoid contents for future Moringa breeding programs in Vietnam as well as in Thua Thien Hue.
– Identification of the right time and ingredients to process the best-quality MFB and MOF fertilizers.
– Determination of the appropriate amount of MFB and MOF fertilizers for some leafy vegetables in Thua Thien Hue province.
2. Contribution in practice
– Selection of three lines (SPLs 7, 18 and 65) for high waterlogging tolerance and three lines (SPLs 21, 27, and 66) for high phenolic and three lines (SPLs 21, 73, and 66) for flavonoid contents for future Moringa breeding programs in Vietnam as well as in Thua Thien Hue.
– The best quality Moringa residues were fermented using EM product and molasses to produce Moringa foliar biofertilizer (MFB) in four months of composting. Optimal Moringa organic fertilizer (MOF) was obtained after a seven-week incubation period.
– Determination of the appropriate amount of MFB with 100 ml per liter of water and MOF with 25 tons per hectare resulting the highest of leafy vegetables in Thua Thien Hue province.
