On May 22nd 2020, the scientific seminar on “Development of a diagnostic scar marker for Vibrio spp. caused disease in Whiteleg shrimp and marine fish” was held in the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University (HUIB). Staffs and graduate students of HUIB attended this scientific seminar.
At the seminar, Dr. Hoang Tan Quang introduced the molecular markers and advantages of Sequence Characterized Amplified Region (SCAR), the reason why his team chose this type of molecular marker in their research. After that, Dr. Quang presented some research results achieved in identifying toxin genes in Vibrio species which causes disease in aquatic animals. He also showed difficulties during doing experiments to generate SCAR molecular markers that identify two Vibrio species (V. shilonii and V. vulnificus).
Participants attending the seminar have exchanged, discussed some issues on technical skills in molecular biology and direction of development of achieved results as well as orientations for practical application.
