On-site Inspection of the Research Project Implementation (Project Code: 106.02-2023.89)

On May 6, 2026, the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) conducted an on-site inspection of the research project entitled “Development of Geminivirus-Resistant Nicotiana benthamiana Plants Using Type V CRISPR-Cas Systems” (Project Code: 106.02-2023.89) at the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University. The project is led by Dr. Ho Ngoc Han, with the Institute serving as the host institution.

The inspection meeting was attended by Mr. Le Tai Dung, Deputy Director of the Executive Agency of NAFOSTED and Head of the Inspection Team; representatives of the Department of Basic Research Management; NAFOSTED officers in charge of related activities; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Loc from the University of Sciences, Hue University, acting as an independent expert; as well as the Institute’s leadership, representatives of the Office of Science, Training and International Cooperation, and members of the research team, including the project accountant.

On behalf of the research team, the Principal Investigator presented a report on the activities carried out to date, the research outputs achieved, the progress of the approved research tasks, and the implementation plan for the remaining project period. The presentation also highlighted both the advantages and challenges encountered during the project implementation and sought expert advice on addressing several issues arising in the course of the research.

The Inspection Team acknowledged the project’s progress and research outcomes achieved in accordance with the approved plan, received the Principal Investigator’s comments and recommendations, and provided guidance on the implementation of forthcoming activities. The team also advised the Principal Investigator to submit reports and explanations regarding any difficulties encountered to NAFOSTED for further consideration and support.
