Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University organized the scientific seminar to celebrate Day of Science and Technology Day in Vietnam

On the occasion the Day of Science and Technology in Vietnam (May 18th), the scientific seminar entitled “Analysis of nitrogen fixation and transport in soybean (Glycine max (l.) Merr.) using nitrogen radioisotope as tracer” was held on May 17th, 2019 at the Institute of  Biotechnology, Hue University (HUIB). The scientific seminar was attended by HUIB’s staffs.

At the seminar, Dr. Nguyen Van Phi Hung presented results on using nitrogen radioisotope as tracer to study the nitrogen fixation and transport in soybean, including:

– Analyze the transportation of fixed [13N]N2 after being synthesis.

– The effects of environmental factors on nitrogen fixation in soybean.

After listening to the report, the scientists attending the seminar highly appreciated results achieved of Dr. Hung’s research team. This is an insight study to determine the transport mechanism of [13N]N2 and evaluation the effects of low partial pressure of O2 on nitrogen fixation in soybean.

Scientists discussed about this topic to clarify the research results (methodology, potential applications for agricultural development…) as well as research interests in future.
