On November 29th<\/sup> 2018, the scientific seminar on \u201cMonitoring, management and mitigation cyanobacteria blooms \u2013 research result on cyanobacteria blooms in Vietnam\u201d was held in the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University (HUIB). The scientific seminar was attended by staffs of the HUIB as well as scientists and students from Hue University. Specially, the scientific seminar was attended by Prof. Michele Burford from Griffith University, Australia.<\/p>\n

Opened the seminar, Prof. Nguyen Duc Huy, Deputy Director of HUIB introduced about the HUIB. Prof. Michele Burford then presented report about: \u201cMonitoring, management and mitigation of cyanobacteria blooms\u201d<\/em>; Dr. Hoang Cong Tin from University of Sciences, Hue University presented about \u201cBiodiversity of Tam Giang – Cau Hai Lagoon ecosystems in central Vietnam\u201d<\/em>; Prof. Nguyen Thi Thu Lien, Deputy Director of HUIB reported on the results of \u201cStudy on toxic Cyanobacteria Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii in Vietnam\u201d<\/em> and cooperation potential. After that, scientists and students had heated discussions about toxic Cyanobacteria, biodiversity conservation as well as how to access, carry out research in the near future.<\/p>\n

After the seminar was over, in the afternoon of the same day, Prof. Michele Burford; Prof. Nguyen Thi Thu Lien and scientists of the Institute had a field trip at Tam Giang – Cau Hai Lagoon.<\/p>\n
