\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0On March 13, 2026, Hue University held the doctoral dissertation defense for PhD candidate Dang Ngoc Sang, a member of Cohort 4 (2021 intake) in Biology (Code: 9420101). His dissertation, entitled \u201cProduction and Bioactivity Evaluation of Gypenosides from Cell Cultures of Gynostemma pentaphyllum<\/em> (Thunb.) Makino,\u201d was conducted under the training program of the Hue University Institute of Biotechnology.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The research was supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quoc Dung of the University of Education, Hue University, and Dr. Hoang Tan Quang of the Hue University Institute of Biotechnology. Attending the defense were Associate Professor Dr. Vo Viet Minh Nhat, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Student Affairs of Hue University, together with staff members responsible for related academic affairs. Representing the Hue University Institute of Biotechnology was Associate Professor Dr. Truong Thi Hong Hai, Director of the Institute, along with lecturers and PhD candidates currently studying at the Institute. The event also welcomed colleagues, friends, family members, and others interested in the dissertation.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The Hue University Doctoral Dissertation Evaluation Committee consisted of Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Loc, University of Sciences, Hue University (Chair); Associate Professor Dr. La Viet Hong, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 (Reviewer 1); Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Du Sanh, University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (Reviewer 2); Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Truong Son, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (Reviewer 3); Dr. Nguyen Bao Hung, Hue University Institute of Biotechnology (Secretary); Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Thanh Tung, Da Lat University (Member); and Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Huy, Hue University (Member).<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 During the defense session, the Committee reviewed the candidate\u2019s academic background, research achievements, study process, and scientific contributions. PhD candidate Dang Ngoc Sang then presented the rationale for conducting the study, its scientific and practical significance, research methodology, and key findings. He also highlighted the scientific and practical contributions of the dissertation. The research outcomes have been published in journals indexed in WoS\/Scopus as well as in reputable national scientific journals.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Following the presentation and the candidate\u2019s responses to questions from the Committee members, the Committee convened for deliberation and voting. The dissertation received unanimous approval, with all seven members present voting in favor (7\/7 votes). The Committee congratulated both the supervisors and the candidate on the successful defense of the doctoral dissertation.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In a moment of joy and gratitude, PhD candidate Dang Ngoc Sang expressed his sincere appreciation to Hue University, the Hue University Institute of Biotechnology, the Evaluation Committee, his supervisors, colleagues, friends, and family members for their continuous support and encouragement throughout his doctoral studies and dissertation defense.<\/p>\n
